Artist Statement

Upon reaching adulthood, I'm surprised at how sentimental I've become. I've also noticed how visual I am. If something is out of my sight, then it's out of my mind. The same goes for my memories. People often say, "Put down the camera and live in the moment," but as a photographer, that can be difficult. Without the photographs, or even physical pieces of my experiences, I'd likely forget that moment existed in the first place.

Over the past year, my goal was to capture even the most menial of moments to create a visual diary. Each moment pictured here is equally as important. I've always been attached to the idea of being able to chronicle my life with photos. This project is my way of starting that process. I hope this collection of photographs can provide the viewer with the same timeless, nostalgic feelings it brings me.
