Artist Statement

I am a textile designer and curator that bridges literature and history with print design and traditional crafts. For my thesis I wanted to investigate the links I noticed between grief and textiles. As someone whose early life was shaped by loss, watching the world be molded by mass mourning over the past year propelled me to help others navigate through the same waters I have. The intention was to start the dialogue around what it is to endure loss whether that means talking about how to make it through the day, honoring our loved ones, or taking action to stop violent oppression.
