Artist Statement
Inspired by explorative practices, a lot of this work derives from being "in the moment." With the utilization of earthenware clay through personal feelings and tensions, I am able to create pieces that allow me to be present. By creating bowls, cylinders and various organically shaped vessels, I am focusing on a process that is centered in my own spontaneity. This concedes my own emotions in a way that feels productive yet meaningful. Instead of being devoid of both the negatives and positives, I am allowing myself to feel the extent of creating, despite conflicting emotions.
