Artist Statement

For my thesis, I wanted to challenge my character design brain and make fun, adult illustrations for Aesop's Fables. The fables are something I grew up with, but specifically the ones that are safe and illustrated for children. Older versions of the classic moral-teaching fables are worded more for adults, but less represented as such. My work depicts the comedic and grim scenes described by Aesop in a style that a more mature audience can enjoy.
