Alina Ladyzhensky is the Associate Director of Advancement Communications at the Moore College of Art & Design. She is responsible for executing communications strategies to support Moore’s fundraising, stewardship and engagement goals and overseeing all digital, print, social, and multimedia initiatives related to advancement communications.

She has been a proud Philadelphia resident since emigrating to the United States from Moscow with her family at a young age. She holds a BA in English from Temple University and an MA in Publishing, with an Editing & Writing concentration, from Rosemont College. After a long tenure in the editorial and marketing divisions of Taylor & Francis/Routledge, a global academic publisher, she moved into higher ed communications as the Marketing & Communications Writer at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy & Practice, and subsequently served as Associate Director of Communications at Penn’s Annenberg School for Communications.

A lifelong poetry enthusiast, she writes and performs under the pen name Alina Pleskova. She has hosted workshops, readings, and panels for organizations including Blue Stoop, Rutgers University, and the Institute of Contemporary Art, and served as Programming Coordinator for the 215 Festival. She is a recipient of 2020 Art & Change and 2022 Window of Opportunity grants from the Leeway Foundation, and a founding member of the Cheburashka Collective, a group of women and nonbinary writers from the Soviet diaspora. Her chapbook, What Urge Will Save Us, was published by Spooky Girlfriend Press in 2017 and her first full-length book, Toska, will be published by Deep Vellum in June 2023.
