Teaching Philosophy: Explore! To create an environment for students to explore their ideas and test their limits while assimilating the knowledge needed to succeed in the industry. Developing designs involves exploring, as design is not a linear process. Exploring all avenues of design and seeing the world in a larger framework and understanding that all is connected – experimentation, inspiration, and information lead to creative design solutions. By following an inquiry-based process, designs develop more creatively. By motivating students to explore, test, and push the envelope it encourages them to expand their thinking and to look at design more critically. Developing a vision and then applying that - explore, expand, experience, express. An integration of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation; a mix of divergent and convergent thinking to develop new conclusions, and new understandings are the basis of creative development. Critical thinking is creative thinking!
