Gabrielle Lavin Suzenski

Suzenski began her professional career in the Fabric Workshop and Museum's post-college apprenticeship program in 2004, which led to a full time position working with the founder/artistic director in coordinating the museum's relocation in 2006. She joined The Galleries at Moore in 2008 and helped to organize major exhibitions including Alice Neel: Drawing from Life, Bicycle: People + Ideas in Motion, Philagrafika 2010: The Graphic Unconscious; and Pretty Vacant: The Graphic Language of Punk, among others. Since her appointment as Rochelle F. Levy Director in 2017, Suzenski has grown The Galleries' reputation as a hub for collaboration where creating new and robust programs that better engage diverse Philadelphia communities is top priority. Through a highly interdisciplinary approach, her programmatic vision merges an appreciation for traditional forms of art & design with new modes of interaction to provide meaningful and participatory experiences for the public. She has curated numerous exhibitions including Visionary Women: Janet Biggs & Joyce J. Scott (2022); Tristin Lowe: Black Holes & Rabbit Holes (2021); Emerging Philadelphia: Shona McAndrew, Matt Osborn, and Stacey Lee Webber (2020); Kara Springer: Ten Days Before Freedom (2018); and RAIR: Filthy Rich, Projects Made Possible by the Waste Stream (2017). She has an MBA in Entrepreneurship & Innovation and holds a BFA in Sculpture, both from Penn State University.
