Maya Pindyck is a multidisciplinary poet and scholar. A recipient of a 2019 National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, she is the author of the poetry collections Emoticoncert (Four Way Books) and Friend Among Stones (New Rivers Press, winner of the Many Voices Project Award), as well as a chapbook, Locket, Master, winner of a Poetry Society of America Chapbook Fellowship. Her poetry has been published in numerous journals and magazines including The Los Angeles Review, The Massachusetts Review, Prairie Schooner, Quarterly West, Barrow Street, Narrative Magazine, Seneca Review, and Mississippi Review.

She has exhibited her collaborative, visual, and community-based work in various spaces, including the Milton Art Bank, the Lewis H. Latimer House Museum, the Art in Odd Places Public Festival, Chashama’s Temporary Agency, and the Governors Island Art Fair.Her scholarship on educational practices has been published in English Journal, Gender and Education, International Journal of Education Through Art, and Reconceptualizing Educational Research Methodology, among other journals. She earned her BA in studio art and philosophy from Connecticut College, her MFA in poetry from Sarah Lawrence College, and her PhD in English education from Columbia University’s Teachers College.
