Richard Harrington  

Professor
A professional illustrator for over 30 years and a full-time freelancer since 1990, Richard Harrington’s work has ranged from humorous magazine and editorial cartoons to exacting instructional diagrams and product illustrations. Elected to the Society of Illustrators in 1997, he is also a member and current president of the Philadelphia Sketch Club (PSC). At the PSC, he originated the annual show Phillustration in 2007, the only open-juried exhibition of illustration in the United States that hangs student work alongside the work of professionals. After a series of lectures about his illustration work to college students in the mid-1990s, Harrington began teaching as an adjunct illustration instructor at Syracuse University, and is now a professor in the Illustration program at Moore College of Art Design. Joe Kulka  

Chair of Communication Arts, Associate Professor
Joe Kulka is an award-winning children's book illustrator and author. He has illustrated over 20 books for children. Working for USDA Forest Service, Kulka has created notable illustrations and picture books, featuring national icons Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl. With 30 years of experience as a freelance illustrator, Kulka's professional background spans a variety of sectors, including medical, gaming and entertainment. He has a BFA in illustration from the University of the Arts and an MFA in illustration from the University of Hartford. View full profile
