Merit Based Scholarships

Scholarships are merit-based awards and do not have to be repaid. Moore offers more than $600,000 in merit scholarships to first-year and transfer undergraduate students. Awards are based on the applicant's academic and artistic achievements. Additionally, there are annual competitive scholarships from organizations outside of Moore that we encourage all of our students to apply for.

The Visionary Honors Program (VHP) is a competitive four-year honors program for first-year and transfer students enrolling at Moore. Through this program, first-year and transfer students receive $25,000 annually. The program provides two goal-oriented options for student learning—Leadership Path or Academic Path—and is designed to support students in achieving their career goals, developing as leaders and gifted academics, and pursuing their professional dreams.

The VHP challenges high-achieving student artists and designers with advanced coursework and additional opportunities to connect with working artists, volunteer with community leaders and service organizations, and receive invaluable mentorship opportunities. A Visionary Honors Scholarship is our most competitive scholarship and supplants all other Moore merit scholarships.

First-year students who submit all required application materials, in addition to their FAFSA, by December 15 are eligible for the Early Action Scholarship. The benefits of this award include a $1,000 one-time scholarship for your first year at Moore as well as priority financial aid and housing consideration.

Scholarships between $5,000 and $12,000 awarded to eligible transfer students. These scholarships are automatically renewed for up to four years of full-time enrollment as long as the student maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 to 3.0 per year, depending on the award.

Students who successfully complete Moore’s Summer Art and Design Institute between their sophomore and junior year of high school or their junior and senior year of high school and apply and are accepted as a first-year BFA student at Moore College of Art & Design are eligible to receive a $2,500 per year scholarship

The College may, at its discretion, change the name and funding source of any awarded scholarship. Scholarships are subject to revision based on receipt of any grant or scholarship not anticipated at the time of this award. Scholarships, unless otherwise indicated, are based on full-time enrollment and will be applied to tuition and fees.
