Let’s Create a Paper Tulip with Erica Worrall '12
Paper flowers are a newfound love for many individuals. They are most commonly seen in weddings as backdrops. This workshop will show you the basic techniques of creating a paper flower.
Register by May 14 to receive supplies for the workshop in the mail, and be sure to give us your current mailing address.
What you'll learn:
Students will learn in a one-day entry-level class the techniques of cutting, shaping and configuring a paper flower to look realistic. Creating paper flowers starts with learning the anatomy of the real flower you are trying to replicate. Each petal is cut out of fine Italian crepe paper, shaped to resemble the petals of the original flower and then adhered to a wrapped wire stem. By the end of the class you will take away a beautifully sculpted flower that will last you years with good care.
To ensure the best possible learning experience, we are limiting direct workshop participation to 20 participants total. But don’t worry—if you’re not one of the first 20 people to sign up, you can still attend as an observer! What does that mean? Observers are welcome to follow along, and we just ask that you stay on mute.
Get a behind-the-scenes look at Moore's Historic Costume Collection, led by alum Jane Likens '66.

Led by Brittany Campese (she/her). Brittany has been working in the nonprofit sector for more than 15 years and combines her education in women's studies and nonprofit management to provide holistic support to change-makers and artists. As a white, cis-gender woman who was raised in rural Western New York, she considers herself both an ally and an accomplice in the struggles for racial and social justice. She has dedicated her life to working towards collective liberation, and sees her contribution as helping to build skills, increase capacities, and secure resources with individuals and communities who are doing the most visionary work. Brittany has been providing training and consulting services to artists, arts organizations, and arts funders in Philadelphia for nearly 10 years. In addition to being the Principal of Vision Driven Consulting, Brittany is also a Co-Lead of Securing the Roots, a 6-month fundraising fellowship for community-based organizations led by and for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, & People of Color).
