Frequently Asked Questions

After thorough consultation with the members of Moore's Pandemic Response Team, as well as leadership from our Board, Faculty Forum, the Moore Federation of Teachers and Staff Council, Moore College of Art & Design announced in May 2021 that it will require COVID-19 vaccinations for all new and returning undergraduate and graduate students, beginning with the start of the fall 2021 semester. Exceptions to the requirement will only be provided for medical or religious reasons.

The College does not have its own supply or allotment or vaccines. Therefore, we require new and incoming students to get vaccinated elsewhere, whether here in Pennsylvania, through the municipality where you live, or through your health care provider. Students who are unable to receive the vaccine before the beginning of their first semester will need to obtain it upon their return to campus and will have to quarantine between doses.

For the start of the spring 2022 semester, we required that new and returning students get tested for COVID-19 prior to their arrival on campus. Students who test positive should remain home until they are free of symptoms and receive a negative test.

Face masks are required of all Moore's students, faculty, and staff while on campus, per current campus and City of Philadelphia guidelines. Campus visitors must also wear a mask to be permitted on campus. As of spring 2022, we are requiring everyone on our campus to wear a N95/KN95 mask OR to double mask with surgical and fabric masks.

The College will follow directives and guidance from the City of Philadelphia Health Department, Pennsylvania Department of Education and CDC should Philadelphia County shift out of the current green phase.

Yes, Moore is prepared to shift to 100% remote teaching and learning in the event the College, in consultation with the City of Philadelphia Health Department, Pennsylvania Department of Education, and/or CDC determine the need to do so.

The Galleries at Moore are open to the public. All visitors over the age of two are required to wear a mask, per current campus and City of Philadelphia guidelines. As of January 2022, we are requiring all Galleries visitors to wear a N95/KN95 mask OR to double mask with surgical and fabric masks.

Our gallery hours are Monday through Saturday, 11am-5pm. No reservation needed—walk-ins welcome!

Absolutely NO food or drink is permitted.

Fall 2021 Orientation took place on campus. For the most up-to-date information regarding our plans for future Orientation programming, please continue to visit our website.

Campus tours are open, and spots can be reserved in advance through the Admissions section of our website. We are currently requiring guests to double mask while on campus, with a surgical/disposable mask covered by a cloth mask OR to wear an N95/KN95 mask. Masks are currently required for all, even those with COVID-19 vaccinations.
