Hassan Tower and the nearby Mausoleum of Mohammed V in Rabat were first on our itinerary on this very cold and rainy day.

We left Fez behind and traveled to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, but on the way stopped in Meknès, which served as the capital for 65 years during the 17th century.

It’s chilly and raining today in Fez, Morocco, so we all have on multiple layers of clothes. But that isn’t keeping the students from continuing to explore and learn about all this city has to offer.

There’s a sense of new and déjà vu for students in the Campus Commons at Moore. The space has been updated with new furniture, lighting and carpeting, while retaining the same famous design names.

What a culturally-enriching day it was today in Fez, the city known as the “Venice of Morocco” and the “Athens of Africa.”

The morning was ours for shopping, strolling and seeing sites in Chefchaoen and Fashion Design major Brittnie Brown was not going to leave “the blue city” until she bought herself a blue painting.

Today was a day for traveling to cities not yet explored but not before visiting the studio of the flamboyant and highly talented fashion designer Mahmoud Benslimane, “createur de vetements, modernes et tradtionnels.”

It was a close call when Photography and Digital Arts major Natalie Nelson’s mobile phone was misplaced at the Madrid Airport, but after retrieving it with the help of Fashion Design major Drashti Pandya, she made it just in time for our 11:35 am departure for Tangier.
