Accepted Students Week: New Moore Students!

• The last thing I made was a floral ashtray using resin, pigment, stickers and flowers, along with a pyramid where I included gold foil flakes.

• What excites me most about attending Moore is being in an environment that is filled with artists and networking, meeting people I can potentially collaborate and work with in the future.

• If I was stuck on an island, I’d 100% bring my iPad with me. Even without Internet I’d have my Procreate, music apps, pictures and camera, etc.

• The last thing I made was a hand study as one of my AP Drawing assignments. I really enjoy drawing hands because they are so expressive and can elicit emotion and thoughts.

• I’m excited to attend Moore for so many reasons, one of which is how I can grow as a visual artist among talented, creative peers!

• If I were stuck on an island, I would bring one of my dogs. I can’t imagine a life without my best friend!

• The last thing I made was a painting of three adorable pups for a family friend. I love making art for others, I feel like it's my purpose. Being an artist is a special gift, so I like to spread love in a unique way and share my art with others. Plus, painting puppies? Two of my favorite things? Sign me up!

• The thing I am looking forward to the most at Moore is being surrounded by fellow artists who share the same love for the arts as I do. Meeting other artists with different interests and specialties will be a fun experience. We all will have something in common, so it could be easier to make new friends. On top of that, we can get feedback on our artwork and grow stronger as artists.

• If I was stranded on an island, I would have to bring my cat. Not only would it be a good strategic move because I am 100% certain he could catch a fish or a small animal, but he is the best company. I got my cat for my fifth birthday and he means the world to me. He is entertaining, loving and crazy. I'd also be willing to say he is up there with some of the world’s cutest cats.

• The last thing that I made was a drawing of a girl and what her thoughts are. Those thoughts are good and bad as she has different types of feelings during the particular situation.

• I am excited to attend Moore because I have never been to an art school that is full time. I went to school and took the classes that I'm required to, which didn’t interest me. So this is a new experience. I can't wait to join your clubs. It is a small school where I am not intimidated. I can't wait to get to know my professors and future classmates at Moore.

• If I have to be stuck on an island, I would bring boba (bubble tea) because I also will need it to survive and the island might be hot, so I would need to cool down. Plus, it is delicious.

• The last thing I made formally was a portrait of two Rottweilers for a friend's mom as a Christmas gift. And on my own I did a small painting of some plants and cameras I have in my room, a few sketches of friends, and I’ve been working on some digital drawings.

• I am exciting to be taking art classes again and to be immersed in an artistic space. I'm excited to see how much I can grow as an artist here. Moore is also a small school, and with that comes a sense of community that I can't wait to experience and be a part of. I already have felt very welcomed to the school!

• (*What’s one thing you can’t live without?) Noise cancelling headphones. The pandemic has been a wild ride for everyone and I have ended up in a small space with eight of my family members. I don't always have a quiet place to work.

• (*If you were stranded on an island, what is one thing you'd pack?) Given that the island probably has food, enough resources to build a shelter—and obviously water—I'd bring a blanket or some form of sleeping bag. I like to be comfortable and I like my sleep!
