Philadelphia, PA – Get into the swing of spring and summer as Moore College of Art & Design senior Fashion Design students present their collections at Moore’s S/S 2019 Fashion Show presented by Century 21 Stores, on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 8 pm in Annenberg Court at The Barnes Foundation. Tickets are $35 for general admission, $45 at the door, and $150 for tickets that include VIP seats and parking. For information and tickets, visit moore.edu/fashionshow2019 or call 215.965.8586.

Eighteen talented seniors from Moore’s Fashion and Textile Design Department will reveal their distinctive collections that display their personality, style and artisanal skills through their beautifully crafted clothing. Annenberg Court will be reimagined for the event and transformed into a glamorous, dramatically lit setting that will beautifully showcase the garments.

“Our annual spring/summer fashion show is always a fun and exciting event, and one of Moore’s biggest nights of the year,” said Moore President Cecelia Fitzgibbon. “The fantastic work on display by our fashion design seniors is representative of the kind of creative thinking and career ambition that all Moore students demonstrate and will bring to their future industries.”

“This year has been full of a lot of growth, passion and maturity for this group,” said Moore Fashion Design Chair Nasheli Ortiz-González. “Those who come to the show will see cuts, silhouettes and colors within the traditional realm, but from a fresh and youthful point of view.”

For the very first time at a Moore senior fashion show, a plus-size bridal collection will be shown, reflecting a sea change in women’s apparel among retailers. “The fashion world is hungry for plus-size designers,” said Moore Professor Richard Killeaney. Genderless fashion, which has been seen on runways in New York, will also be featured, as well as garments made from techno textiles.

The collections were curated by industry experts, including Michael Drummond, fashion designer and veteran of Project Runway (season eight); Charles Elliot Harbison, founder and creative director of HARBISON; Kristin Helena Johnson, womenswear designer and fashion show producer; Danielle Rolla, denim designer for Regency Brands at Artistic Denim Mills (ADM Denim); and Ornella Santoni, bespoke lingerie designer and fashion designer.

A selection of winning fashions will be displayed in the windows of Century 21’s Philadelphia store at 8th and Market streets for a month following the show.

Moore’s S/S 2019 Fashion Show is sponsored by Century 21 Stores, along with Butter Supersoft, EMD Performance Materials and Adrienne Vittadini ’66.
