On Friday, April 6, 2018, the 2018 Honors Convocation recognized the remarkable accomplishments of students who excelled in their artistry and academics. The ceremony is held to acknowledge students who have achieved the Dean's List, and for the presentation of scholarship and fellowship awards.
Animation & Game Arts major Katherine Woods was named the 2018 valedictorian.
The Penny Fox Internship Fellowship Award 2018 was presented to Judie Thai, Mandy McGarrigle, Maria Salazar, Amity Tanner, and Samira Alhassan.
Leadership award winners were: Madison Pollihan, Happy Fernandez Women’s Leadership Fellowship 2018; Destiny Garner, Frieda Fehrenbacher Women's Leadership Fellowship 2018; Jackie Kensey, Sis Grenald Women’s Leadership Fellowship Award 2018; and Angela Palma, Tiffany & Co. Foundation Women's Leadership Fellowship 2018.
Travel Fellowship Awards were presented to: Amity Tanner, Harriet Sartain Travel Fellowship 2018; Caitlin O'Connell, Sarah Peter Travel Fellowship 2018; Justyne Kosinski, Sis Grenald International Travel Fellowship 2018; and Emily Costello, Frieda Fehrenbacher International Travel Fellowship 2018.
Scholarship awardees included: Vanessa Mac-Henry, Catherine Finn Storey ’81 Memorial Scholarship for 2018-2019; Riley High, Charming Shoppes Scholarship for 2018-2019 for Fashion Design; Destiny Garner, Charming Shoppes Scholarship for 2018-2019 for Fashion Design; Liz Griffin, Fanny Brennan Scholarship for Excellence in Painting 2018; and Shoalyn Brown, Fashion Group International/Libby Haynes Hyman Scholarship 2018.
Cassidy Argo was given the Miriam Troop '38 Portrait Award 2018.
Damary Beltran received The Harriet Glashofer Jolles Memorial Prize in Fine Arts 2018. Mandy McGarrigle won the Your Part-Time Controller Emerging Entrepreneur's Marketing Analysis Poster Competition. Autumn Mapp won the Your Part-Time Controller Emerging Entrepreneur's Prototyping Competition. Second place winner of the Roosevelt Paper Calendar Competition was Alissa Outwater. Third place winner was Alexa Sarracino.

These young women are poised to become creative citizens of the world. Some of them are visible leaders, known by virtue of their presentations in class, the questions they ask and the work they produce. Others are quiet achievers, toiling in the studio to perfect their art or design and going back just one more time to make it the best. In each case, these are students of which we are so very proud, who will be a success in their careers because of the foundation of hard work and determination they developed at Moore.
