Moore’s Graduate Studies community consists of unique programs in Socially Engaged Art, Socially Engaged Studio Art and Art Education with an Emphasis in Special Populations that prepare motivated people of all identities with the skills, knowledge and resources to become professional artists, designers and teachers. Here are exciting updates happening with graduate students past and present, as well as faculty members.

Qiaira Riley MFA '21 is in an exhibition at Woman Made Gallery in Chicago. Read more about it here.

MFA alum Kenny Harris has a solo exhibition at UMASS Amherst’s Hamden Gallery.

Yaroub Al Obaidi MA '19 was featured in the Central New Jersey newspaper for his life experiences and recent work.

Chelsey Webber Brandis MFA '20 recently finished a seven-month internship with The Print Center where she served as curatorial assistant in the recent virtual exhibition (Un)Making Monuments. For this project, a new section of the exhibition will be released each Wednesday for a month. Get details here

Laura Petrovich-Cheney MFA '11 has a current exhibit at Toledo Art Museum, and was recently featured in an issue of Quiltfolk magazine.  She also donated work to support the Center for Art in Wood.

Suki Valentine MFA '17 contributed to a group exhibition called Site Visit, billed as "A Virtual Exchange With Over 50 Artists From Around The World." It will be available to see in several online portals, including Artland as well as L'AiR Arts. Additionally, the revised date for Valentine’s solo exhibition Under Wraps: Hidden Histories / Open Secrets, has been set for opening Friday, November 20, 2020 at Mémoire de l'Avenir gallery in Paris.

Faculty member Hammam Aldouri delivered a paper at UAAC Annual Conference in mid-October entitled "Becoming Art Historians: Notes on Class Tendencies in Art Historical Practice" and has an essay forthcoming in Third Text titled "A Critique of the 'Author Function' Concept in Art History." 

Graduate Program Director Daniel Tucker guest-edited a magazine about socially engaged art on the theme of "Confronting Enemies" and recently completed this online exhibition documenting a year of “historic mural activations” by Marie Alarcon, Ken McFarlane, Mark Strandquist and Courtney Bowles with TRIPOD, Studio 22 (Nasheli Juliana Ortiz, Marién Vélez and Lorna Mulero) and Eva Wǒ that was developed for a curatorial residency with Mural Arts Philadelphia.
