Moore alumni ranging from class years 1950 to 2010 enjoyed a private tour of the National Portrait Gallery's special exhibition Votes for Women: A Portrait of Persistence.
The eight alums gathered Saturday, October 12, to build community, share artistic experiences and tour the exhibit, which was about the important movement in the fight for women's equality on the centennial of the passage of the 19th Amendment. The women, including Gloria Wolf '50, Concetta Scott '51, Rochelle Margasak '68, Carol Porter '71, Mary Jennings '88, Iris Kapetanovic '01, Sarah Yoki '02 and Kia Weatherspoon '10, also enjoyed a light reception.
Gloria Wolf and Concetta Scott immediately recognized each other. Scott told Wolf, "Your hair may be white, but your eyes are the same blue as when we sat across from each other at the lunch table." Concetta Scott is a practicing artist and regularly exhibits her work.
