Moore Board Member Dr. Margaret Marsh, University Professor of History at Rutgers University, was one of 12 Rutgers University faculty members named fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. This honor is given to individuals whose work is changing the world and making a difference in people’s lives.

Dr. Marsh joined the Board of Moore College of Art & Design in 2012, after a former Board member recommended her as a potential member of the Board of Managers.

“Before I became involved with Moore, I knew it well by reputation as an excellent school of art and design and a women’s college,” she says. “As a person deeply committed to the empowerment of women, I was thrilled and delighted when I was asked to join the Board.”

Dr. Marsh is particularly interested in issues related to gender and medicine, and she has made significant contributions to the field of social science. She is being recognized for her contributions to “the history of medicine, academic leadership and communicating and interpreting science to the public.” You can read more about Dr. Marsh’s work in the official announcement from Rutgers

Of her connection to Moore, she says, “Moore is truly a special place. The students energize us all, and the staff and faculty are talented and dedicated. It’s incredibly rewarding to be a part of such an exceptional community.”
