On a cool, overcast Saturday, May 12 morning a warm and joyous celebration was taking place in a tent in Aviator Park across from Moore College of Art & Design – the school’s 169th Commencement for the Class of 2018.  Eighty-three women received their BFAs and, for the first time at the annual spring event, five people received MFA and MA degrees.

Inspiring speeches were given by President Cecelia Fitzgibbon, Valedictorian Katherine Woods, Animation & Game Arts major, Happy Fernandez Endowed Women’s Leadership Prize recipient Carlye Kalmes, Graphic Design major with a minor in Curatorial Studies, Academic Dean Patti Phillips and Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts recipient Janine Antoni (see podcast below).  This year’s Marian Locks Endowed Award winner was Tanya Kapanzhi, who majored in Photography & Digital Arts.
