Moore Interior Design students celebrated Halloween a bit early by using their skills to build haunted houses.

Three teams -- Orange, Green and Purple -- used foam core, construction paper, yarn, pipe cleaners, paints, bat, rats, spiders, spider webbing, googly eyes, popsicle sticks, straws, dowels, moss, fabric, pompoms and felt in a design competition. The teams had one hour to make spooky haunted houses. They were judged on neatness, completeness and spookiness.

Team Green, with members Giovani AnggastaXiomara Arbaiza and Gabrielle Schreiber, was the winner with its entry that included a traditional haunted house, mummies and skeletons.

Team Orange members were Amity TannerAdel Cedeno-Laboy and Chanté Howard.

Team Purple included Samantha FinkHailey DeverAlexa Rosenblatt and Ashley Adams.

The students also got into the spirit of the holiday by dressing up. Chanté Howard won with her Jelly Belly costume.
