Hundreds turned out Friday night, December 7, at the beautifully decorated Century 21 Store in Philadelphia for Moore's first-ever 2018 F/W Fashion Showcase, spotlighting the work of sophomores and juniors.

Spectators at the sold-out show got a close-up look at fashions from 29 designers, including work from five U School High School students working in partnership with The Galleries at Moore.

Guests were welcomed by Moore President Cecelia Fitzgibbon, then Fashion Design Chair Nasheli Ortiz-Gonzalez explained what people were going to see.

"(U School seniors) were mentored by our senior Fashion Department students via The Galleries at Moore to create fashions," she said. "Second, the sophomore students are presenting a sustainability project, repurposing and re-imagining men's dress shirts. Last, the juniors present their first mini collections."

She also thanked Fashion Design faculty members Lorraine BeckettHannah GoffRose KampertSara KeelRichard KilleaneyEmilio MaldonadoChristie Torgerson and Heather Ujiie.

A DJ played while models strutted down the runway below glittering chandeliers, surrounded by trees made from red globe ornaments and fans of fashion.

C21's Scott Sacco presented awards to sophomore Jenny Song and junior Jasmine Castañeda-Nava for their collections. Judges included Jodie Schmidt, field visual manager for Century 21 Stores, and Kevin Parker, co-founder and CEO of Philly Fashion Week.
