Maureen Pelta, PhD

Professor of Art History and Curatorial Studies
Maureen Pelta is president of the Moore Federation of Teachers, holds a Ph.D. in the History of Art from Bryn Mawr College, as well as an M.A. and B.A. from Temple University. She has written and lectured extensively on the culture of Renaissance Italy, with topics ranging from Correggio and Vasari, to the significance of Rome for the development of Renaissance artistic practice, and Italian garden history, contributing articles to a variety of publications including The Encyclopedia of the Renaissance, The Dictionary of Art, and The Journal of Medieval and Renaissance Studies, in addition to gallery and book reviews. Maya Pindyck, PhD

Director of Writing, Assistant Professor
Maya Pindyck is a multidisciplinary poet and scholar. A recipient of a 2019 National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, she is the author of the poetry collections Emoticoncert (Four Way Books) and Friend Among Stones (New Rivers Press, winner of the Many Voices Project Award), as well as a chapbook, Locket, Master, winner of a Poetry Society of America Chapbook Fellowship. Jonathan Wallis, PhD

Professor of Art History and Humanities
Jonathan Wallis is Professor of Art History and Humanities in the Department of Liberal Arts at Moore College of Art & Design. He served as the Penny and Bob Fox Distinguished Professor from 2015-2018. His current research interests and scholarly work focus upon the intersection of ethics, socially engaged art and critical pedagogy. His work has been published in multiple venues including Art and the Public Sphere, Journal of Curatorial Studies, Papers of Surrealism, and Woman’s Art Journal. He has written essays on the post-Surrealist work of Salvador Dalí and served as guest editor for a special double-issue of Art and the Public Sphere focused on ethics (Intellect Press). View full profile
