Since 1921, Moore College of Art & Design has been a leader in art and design education for youth through its Young Artists Workshop (YAW). Young creatives enrolled in YAW grow creatively while developing as artists, thinkers and innovators. Guided by an exceptional roster of trained faculty who are working artists and experts in their fields, YAW kids and teens hone and diversify their skills, build self-confidence, make lasting friendships and develop strong foundations for creative success.
High School students (grades 9–12) are invited to become part of Moore’s vibrant community, dedicated to advancing and exploring art and design in a collaborative atmosphere. In addition to building creative and technical skills, develop your imagination, confidence, style and self-expression.
Middle school students (grades 6–8) join us on the beginning and intermediate stages of their creative journey by investigating a wide range of visual art materials, techniques and ideas. Develop a broad understanding of the art and design process, which will be a springboard for your future in the arts.

A completed enrollment form and tuition fee are required to reserve your space in YAW Summer 2021. Early enrollment is suggested, as space within studio concentrations is limited.

Our first priority at Moore College of Art & Design is the health and safety of our entire community—that’s why in summer 2020, we shifted YAW to an online format, given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. And guess what? We still had a blast!
Online YAW classes utilized a mix of creative learning approaches and a range of formats, including small group discussions and demonstrations.
Our faculty created a flexible, fun and engaging virtual learning environment, with a structured weekly calendar of regularly scheduled classes and check-ins via Zoom, email, and Slack messenger. Students enjoyed a wide range of activities throughout each day—and not all of it took place in front of a screen!
